Travel Stipends Available for This Summer’s Audio Documentary Institutes

Members in-good-standing of the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) are eligible for a $100 travel stipend to attend one of CDS’s summer audio documentary institutes: Hearing Is Believing I or Hearing is Believing II. Five stipends for each institute are available on a first come, first serve basis, so don’t delay! To become eligible, join AIR.

AIR ensures that listeners across America will be inspired and stimulated daily with work that meets the highest standards of audio craft whether tuning in to a public station, their computer, or their iPod. AIR’s extensive social and professional network of producers and associates is at the center of unprecedented technology-driven change, rich with opportunity to define and redefine sound art and media — public media in particular. Central to AIR’s mission over its 20 year history is providing support, training, and advocacy necessary for preparing thousands of audio creatives across the nation with the skill and confidence to lead the way to engaging more listeners, and to carry their inspiration to both traditional and emerging outlets.

In addition to the audio institutes, there are other summer learning opportunities through the CDS continuing education program. These intensive sessions, lasting from two to eight days, are open to the general public (and their completion counts as credit toward the Certificate in Documentary Arts for those working toward a certificate).
