IN FOCUS: Two-Month-Long Photography Festival in Chapel Hill, NC

Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s Frank Gallery invites the public to enjoy a celebration of all things photography during the months of September and October—the IN FOCUS festival will feature exhibits, panel discussions, lectures, an outdoor public slideshow, a photo scavenger hunt, and more.

Several Center for Documentary Studies instructors will be participating:

Wednesday, September 5: A reception for Beijing Impressions, a series by photographer Barbara Tyroler6 p.m., FedEx Global Center.

Thursday, October 4: The Documentary Project presents photographs by documentary photographers including Christopher Sims; his series Theater of War: The Pretend Villages of Iraq and Afghanistan will be among those shown. 6 p.m., Frank Gallery.

Thursday, November 1: Barbara Tyroler will moderate a presentation/discussion on Documentary Storytelling and Social Change that includes StoryMineMedia founders Catherine Orr and Elena Rue. 7 p.m., Frank Gallery.
