January 20: Full Frame’s Winter Series Kicks Off with Free Screening of “Amy”

Screen Shot 2016-01-15 at 4.10.08 PM

On January 20, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival‘s annual Winter Series of free screenings at the historic Carolina Theatre begins with Amy (click link to view trailer), a feature doc by Asif Kapadia. The film assembles a devastating portrait of British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, known both for her soulful, seductive pipes and untimely death in 2011 at the age of 27. Here, Winehouse’s too-short life is traced through performance footage, recording sessions, and media appearances, alongside a remarkable trove of intimate home videos and audio interviews with family, friends, and colleagues.

Wednesday, January 20, doors at 6:30 p.m., screening at 7 p.m.
Fletcher Hall, Carolina Theatre
309 W. Morgan St., Durham, North Carolina

Click here for more information on upcoming screenings in the series, including The Look of Silence (January 27) and Cartel Land (February 16).

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is a program of the Center for Documentary Studies. The Full Frame Winter Series is part of the Full Frame Road Show presented by PNC.
