June 21: Ken Burns Event in NYC; Discount on Tix for Duke Community


On June 21, 2016, at the SVA Theatre in New York City, The Modern School of Film—founded by Duke alum Robert Milazzo (’94)—will continue its IN:PICTURES series with award-winning documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. Members of the extended Duke community—students, alumni, faculty/staff, supporters, and friends—will receive a discount on tickets; see below.

Featured guests in the acclaimed series screen clips from and discuss three films that have most influenced them during distinct phases of their work and life: childhood, career breakthrough, and recent/current. For his three films, Burns has selected Buster Keaton’s The General, Carol Reed’s The Third Man, and Tom McCarthy’s The Station Agent.
