Listen: Student Work from the 2016 Making It Sing Audio Institute

2016 Making It Sing

Students and faculty from the summer 2016 CDS audio institute, Making It Sing.

In the first week of August 2016, eleven audio producers took part in the Making It Sing audio institute at the Center for Documentary Studies. Offered through the Continuing Education program, the institute was led by CDS audio program director John Biewen, longtime visiting instructor Shea Shackelford, and guest instructor Devon Taylor, producer of Radiotopia’s Millennial podcast and former editor of the podcast online journal Timbre. In small-group workshops, they helped the students refine their works-in-progress over the course of an intensive week of editing and polishing. Listen to the resulting pieces below (note that several students haven’t yet released their work to the public).
